Arriving to Maupit Airport

..... and making Fishy Business....

Happy to arrive to Maupit Airport with a friend and waiting together for the "Airport Transfer" and the next flight from Bora Bora.

The happy shit of mine was "happy" paying 3200 xpf extra to Air Tahiti for the doubtful privilege to re-booking my flight from Papeete to Maupiti via Bora Bora, and instead be given the opportunity to fly together with a friend via Raiatea. Nevertheless, I’m still waiting for the same airplane from Bora Bora... Fishy Business, but with a bright memory for life!

Happy to be at Maupiti after a flight from PPT via Raiatea

No Gilbert = No Transfer to Auira...

Happy to be at Maupiti

The Lounge of Maupiti Airport - BYOB

The lovely Open Air Bar of Maupiti, with plenty off choices between two types of water and one type of beer. Enjoy and just take a seat in the spacey Lounge of Maupiti.

Diners Lounge in Maupiti Airport has not opened yet, so if you are expecting to stay on ground for many hours make sure to bring your own. Frequent travelers of Maupiti islands prefer the “BYOB concept” and bring there own bottles. So don’t forget to Bring Your Own Bottle for Any of Our Meals… in Maupiti. And if you are coming from Europe, don’t forget “Salt & Pepper”!

Happy Landing!

Maupiti is a lovely island and a beautiful airport to be landing on. The runway of Maupiti is only 956 × 23 meter and one of the shortest in French Polynesia. You can compare it with the runway of FAAA (3420 × 45 meter) witch is 350 % of Maupiti.

- So Happy Landing !

PLEASE, Read the instructions for the Life Jackets before take-off and landing. Check with your fingers, under yours seat, to find the Life Jacket in place.

Safety advice!

Even if you are an expert or semi-professional passenger or as me, flying 5 days a week (or more) and only are interested to survive. – Please READ The Safety Instructions every morning when its time to fly. It’s extra important to read how to use the Life Jackets, when flying in French Polynesia, and I do hope you understand why?

So Please! Read the instructions for the Life Jackets before take-off and check with your fingers, under yours seat, to find the Life Jacket in place.

As a fairly frequent flyer and member of SGU-society, knowing the physical facts for short take-off & landing under normal and poor conditions (windy and raining). I recommend you to tighten the safety belt a little bit extra 60 seconds before take-off & landing. Crashing into water or trying to go down on water is not a soft way to stop flying.

When landing (and Maupit is good as an example) is it important to have enough speed to be airborne and enough frictional resistance and power to be able stop, within a time period of 10 to 15 seconds. Normally is it no problems but you newer knows when the clock is calling for you...

Maupit has a runway with water on both ends and is good as an example. Because it’s bloody wet on both ends of the runway and about 400 meters deep only a few meters out in beautiful waves of the ocean. The reef on the Oceanside is the best place to take a morning swim… If you are “lucky” Crashing and standing in the blue lagoon, be happy!

Moorea - Fare Mato Tea (Haapiti)

The bungalow at Fare Mato Tea (Haapiti) is waiting for me... it will be my bungalow and home for 3 nights...

My bungalow at Fare Mato Tea (Haapiti) is waiting for me at 2.pm.

Mme. So'raia and the bungalow are glad and happy waiting for me.

My bungalow view

The end of the day is coming without a sound. My view from the bungalow is extra ordinary and so beautiful. I’m soundless sharing it all with myself and my diary... a little bit sad to be alone. Thinking about Janis Joplin and the lyrics in “So Sad To Be Alone”

It's sad, so sad to be alone
It's sad, so sad to be alone
No friends to help you, no family no home
It's sad, so sad to be alone
….

My blue bungalow view...

... and with gold

Papeete to Maupiti PPT-MAU

It was a lovely sunny Sunday and hard to find a taxi or ‘le truck’ in Papeete. I was hitchhiking with a happy family from the town center to the airport.

A Sunny Sunday turns soon into rain in French Polynesia, its part of the Paradise and noting to talk about. If you do, it will scare presumptive visitors and tourists from coming to the Paradise... - So don't!!!

Waiting in Moorea...

Waiting in Moorea... for the future to come?

I’m on holyday and have been off from work for some weeks, so for me is it easy to adapt the leisurely speed in Moorea. It’s easy to see how the rhythm of the ferry traffic is affecting the life in Moorea in many ways. And how the people of Moorea are waiting, waiting and waiting...

I was waiting this morning too... to see my friend from Moorea, once more. It was a new type of lonely weekend at the beautiful island of Moorea. I wasn’t prepared for it and was now thinking about my friends back home and what was going on...

The Buss is waiting...

Le Truck is waiting...

.... and God is waiting too...

.... and the port of Moorea is waiting for...

....for The Ferry !

Time's Up!

Time's Up! ... I must leave Moorea now....
… and catch the ferry to Papeete

I’m still sleepy after the long lonely tropical night, lasting for 13 hours... The alarm clock is “kindly” waking me up before dawn. I open up the door looking for signs of the Sun, but its pit dark outside my bungalow...

- Time to take a quick shower and to make a gigantic coup of café

Time's Up!

Happy car wash of the year 2007

I’m so happy to see you and my car again, what a happy coincident!

- Just look at the shining and glowing car ! - It’s an amassing result !!!

Car washing is a tuff and hard duty and sometimes performed and handled by uneducated trainees. But her can we see the good result after a long time of hard work at the University and many years of concentrated study in the art of horsepower’s and speedy cars.

As you can see is the result of the yearly car wash a dirty bath sponge, and not a brand new car !!!

A friend of mine - Fighting demons in the fridge...

WARNING - Hunting down demons in the fridge...

After a long time of awareness is it finally Time to kill the monster that are stealing the precious Chocolate and eating-up the food !

“The Orange Shadow”

“The Orange Shadow”

The mysterious woman with a name, a voice and a beautiful face with a lovely hair… Why so shy and timid?

She is a friend to a friend too me, afraid ‘too be’ and maybe don’t want to become a friend to me? For us who is ‘out in the sun’ is perhaps the name of the shadow a clue.... But still is it sad to find a shy good neighbor, to a good friend of mine.

Quiet & silent
You don’t have to say “keep quiet” or "be quiet".... It’s maybe a tacit understanding ("unspoken agreement") in a quiet way, but on the quite "unobtrusively" way is something fading away.

The answer is:
The life you are living, is the real life you are living together with us... and you are already part of our life !

I want to be you friend, why don’t you let me in?

PLEASE !!!

"I JUST WANT TO BE FRIENDS"

Moorea - Space holder for a friend of mine

Oh dear! Moorea is waiting....!!!

Time to leave Papeete for fresh air and lebensraum !!! (Lebensraum (German for "habitat" or "living space"))

One of the Best & Worst place to live in French Polynesia is probably Moorea and Papeete (so different)? But why compare? Papeete is fairly ok and almost certainly an okay place to work in, and Moorea is just lovely and absolutely the best place to live. – So at this moment I hope Moorea is waiting for me! I need to stay for 2 days and need accommodations for 3 nights.

I don’t want to waste my time. I’ve been waiting too long... at 22000 kilometers distance.

– Friends and cheerful people of Moorea, are you ready to meet me?
– I’m on my way… I’ve been waiting to see you !!!

Oh dear! It's Time to run... the ferry is waiting...

On the Aremiti 5 Ferry, 'top deck' is the place for lovers of the sea!

Le Truck is waiting... at the Port of Moorea....

.... and the fruit is waiting...

Europcar and Fleur is waiting for me!

.... and this is my number....

Moorea - Look at the vegetation and trees...

– I know that my friend is occupied and very busy working today… I hope you are as me, happy waiting and glad to see me later in the evening too...

...... and hopefully....

...... and hopefully are le pamplemousse waiting in the fridge too ?

The bungalow at Fare Mato Tea (Haapiti)

My bungalow at Fare Mato Tea (Haapiti) is waiting for me at 2.pm, and Fare Mato Tea don’t expect me to arrive before 1.30 pm.

How to spend some hours in Moorea before 1.30 pm?

I don’t want to waste my time. I’ve been traveling and waiting too long…

..... Let’s see if my music-friend is at home and if it's possible to go for a swim at the beach? I have been flying for 3 days and need to cool down and maybe, if possible, get a shower in the garden.

What a happy surprise "DéDé" is at home and the wife is just preparing her self to go for a swim !
Friends of mine, "DéDé and Babsy" He is an extraordinary performer of jazz music, and a Lover of rhythm...
